Ron Cantor, on his show ‘Out of Zion’, interviews Tikkun International and TJCII Leader Dan Juster about the Nation of Israel and how we can view it in light of scripture.
Here’s a snippet of the interview:
Cantor: Is Israel just a giant coincidence?
Juster: Well Ron the biblical text says over an over again that Israel after long time in exile would be returned to their own land. in the book of Ezekiel chapter 36 it even indicates that they would return to the land before they would have the experience of that inner heart change and the filling of the Holy Spirit. So I think that when you look at the amazing nature of Jewish history in all of these biblical texts it’s really clear that Israel is a fulfilment of biblical prophecy.
Cantor also asked Dan Juster how to answer people, even Pastors who say that the Church is the new Israel, this was Juster’s response.
What the New Testament is really saying is, that, something surprising happened that wasn’t previously anticipated that Israel would be extended into the nations and that people from the nations when they come to Jesus participate in the meaning of spiritual Israel without displacing ethnic Israel as a nation which is why the NT says things about the church and their priesthood that are parallel to Israel. So I have this definition about the Church which is kind of astonishing; the Church is those from all nations who through faith in Jesus have become joined to Israel and its destiny for the sake of world redemption.
